Inaugural Fiesta Sport Trophy schedule for RallyCar 2011 season announced

Ford Racing and RallyCar announced today that the inaugural Fiesta Sport Trophy championship for the United States will kick off June 3 at the Susquehanna Trail Performance Rally in Wellsboro, Pa., and comprise of seven events during four weekends, culminating at the Lake Superior Rally in Oct. 15.

The winner of the Fiesta Sport Trophy Championship will receive a ride in a Fiesta R2 at the 2011 Rally Great Britain.

Andersson satisfied after first PROTON test

P-G Andersson began his association with the factory PROTON team by completing a successful first test for the Malaysian manufacturer in France last week.

Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year. No sooner are they over and the Dakar Rally starts. Volkswagen confronts the legendary marathon from 1 to 15 January 2011 with four Race Touareg. Reliability, staying power and performance are the essentials on the 15 stages over almost 9,000 kilometres through Argentina and Chile. Vouilloz vows to be ready for IRC return

Former Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Nicolas Vouilloz says he will be fighting fit when he returns to the series on Rallye Monte-Carlo next month, despite not having driven in anger since finishing third on the legendary event back in January.

Vouilloz, who claimed the IRC title in 2008 for Kronos Racing, will drive a Skoda France-supported Fabia Super 2000 on the centenary edition of the rally alongside co-driver Benjamin Veillas. Continue reading Vouilloz vows to be ready for IRC return

Magalhaes happy with co-driver switch

Bruno Magalhaes says changing co-drivers ahead of the 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge won’t affect his chances of a successful campaign next season.

The 30-year-old from Portugal contested eight rounds of the IRC alongside Carlos Magalhaes in 2010, winning Sata Rallye Acores in the process.

However, with Carlos Magalhaes forming a partnership with IRC regular Daniel Oliveira, Bruno Magalhaes has recruited Paulo Grave to navigate him in 2011, starting with the centenary edition of Rallye Monte-Carlo in January. Continue reading Magalhaes happy with co-driver switch

Alen wants to make IRC comeback

Finnish star Anton Alen is targeting a return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in 2011.
