After taking the lead of the WRC Rallye de France on SS10, the second stage of Day Two, Petter Solberg/Chris Patterson (Petter Solberg World Rally Team) suffered a right front tyre puncture on SS11. This unfortunate incident cost the Norwegian 38.6sec, dropping him to third overall and 41.3sec off the lead.
Assuming the lead is Sebastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia (Citroën Total World Rally Team) with a slim 3.3sec advantage over Dani Sordo/Carlos del Barrio (MINI WRC Team).
The fight for the lead is far from over as both Ogier and Sordo will pull out all stops in their efforts to best the other over the six remaining stages for Day Two.
Kris Meeke/Paul Nagle (MINI WRC Team) are fourth overall, and taking pressure from the two factory Ford crews of Jari-Matti Latvala/Miika Anttila and Mikko Hirvonen/Jarmo Lehtinen (Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team).
In the SWRC category, Ott Tanak (Ford Fiesta S2000) has extended his lead by another 15sec to now stand at 02m 03.8s over Juho Hanninen (Skoda Fabia S2000).
Craig Breen is off the leader board in the WRC Academy. No news as to why he is out of the rally as yet, but this has handed the lead to Yeray Lemes with a cushion of 41.5sec over Irishman Alister Fisher.
