Ford now aiming for a podium with Latvala

After the mid-way point of Day Three, the final leg of the WRC Rallye de France 2011, Ogier has extended his lead over Sordo to 5.9sec after SS21 of SS23. Just two stages and 14.82km of action lie in wait for the WRC runners. Sordo is pushing to the maximum, and Ogier is having to defend every second of his lead.

Third placed Petter Solberg has slowed his pace and is now under pressure from the chasing Ford Fiesta RS WRC of Jari-Matti Latvala, just 14.9sec separating the two crews.

Interestingly, Pierre Campana (MINI John Cooper Works WRC) is hunting down Ken Block (Monster World Rally Team) for ninth position overall. Block pulled out a handful number of seconds in SS21 to now have a cushion of 15.1sec over the young Frenchman star.
