Team Total is put to the test

In the fast and fierce world of rallying, not many drivers in South Africa can claim to have put a premier Class S2000 rally machine through its paces. In fact, in the South African Rally Championship only 19 drivers in 2011 climbed behind the steering wheel of these specialised machines.

However, another name can be added to that prestigious list: CAR Magazine South Africa. As a bonus feature in this leading motoring publication’s performance shoot-out special edition (available for sale next week), the Toyota Auris S2000 of Team Total’s Mohammed Moosa was exhaustively tested by CAR Magazine’s rigorous performance trials.

Moosa then showcased his rally weapon’s prowess on a test stage in Moorreesburg in the Swartland region of the Western Cape, thrilling his passengers with high-speed sideways sweeps, blind crests and handbrake cornering.

CAR Magazine also published a short video clip to accompany their test report, and it can be viewed on the magazine’s website here:

Team Total is South Africa’s largest privateer rally team consisting of a four-car squad competing in two categories in the South African National Rally Championship. Representing Team Total in the premier Class S2000 are Mohammed Moosa/Grant Martin and Jean-Pierre Damseaux/Carolyn Swan (Toyota Auris S2000), while Craig Trott/Robbie Coetzee (Toyota RunX S1600) and Stefanie Botha/Angela Shields (Toyota RunX S1600) contest the Two Wheel Drive and Class S1600 Championships.
