Nicolas Klinger, the man who co-drove Nicolas Vouilloz to the second Intercontinental Rally Challenge drivers’ title in 2008, returned to the all-action series on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés this weekend.
Klinger, a 35-year-old from France, partnered Vouilloz in the IRC for three seasons before he joined forces with rising star Thierry Neuville for 2010.
Having been absent from the IRC for more than a year, Klinger returned to partner young French driver Robert Consani in a Renault Mégane RS. Consani is aiming to contest a full schedule of events this season as he chases the IRC 2WD Cup crown.
