Yours in Rallying,
After nine stages and 160km of rallying, Petter Solberg and Phil Mills (Petter Solberg World Rally Team) are the overnight leaders in New Zealand.
“I am so happy with the day,” said Petter. “I’ve really enjoyed it today, and the stages are really great. Some of them are actually being the best in the championship. The car has been perfect today. Will be exciting to see what will happen tomorrow, but I guess it will be maximum attack from all drivers from the first stage.”
With two stage wins today, Petter and Phil now lead Rally New Zealand going into Day Two. Latvala is second and Ogier third. Loeb hit a bridge on SS4, and lost more than a minute.
Rally New Zealand continues with eight more stages tomorrow, and Petter and Phil will be first on the road.
